PADI PSD Surface Support Specialist Course with PRO SCUBA CENTER

This course is designed to be taught in conjunction with the PADI Public Safety Diver course and will allow the student to participate in their role as a PSD Surface Support Specialist. The PSD Surface Support Specialist plays a vital role on a Public Safety Dive Team. The divers’ wellbeing, the team’s effectiveness and the mission’s success all hinges on their ability to do their job. With this in mind, it is imperative that the PSD Surface Support Specialist obtain a solid foundation in Public Safety Diving. This course can also be taught separately from the Public Safety Diver course if necessary.

 The Fun Part

The fun part is the challenge of working as a team to accomplish a common goal and then the excitement when the goal has been accomplished and the team has safely recovered the target. And finally, the realization that you were an integral part of that dive operation!

What You Learn

  • Search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and how to deal with potential problems
  • How to interview witnesses
  • How to document the dive operation
  • And most importantly how to keep your entire dive team safe

To enroll in the PADI PSD Surface Support Specialist course, you must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • An Emergency First Responder or have the equivalent certification from another agency
  • You do NOT have to be a diver to take this course

Your Next Adventure

You can now participate in all of the courses in our Public Safety Diver Program! The more you learn the greater asset you are to your dive team.  Additionally, the PADI Equipment Specialist course will enhance your ability to assist your team by learning how to properly inspect, clean, maintain and store the dive equipment. Currently, Ronnie is the only instructor in the world allowed to certify non-divers as PADI Equipment Specialist.

Be Better Prepared

If you do not already have it, current qualification in basic life support and secondary care of an ill or injured patient is required. We can assist you with this training through the PADI Emergency First Response course
