If you've always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wonderous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
If you've participated in a Discover Scuba Diving experience or resort course, the skills you learned will add to your comfort and desire to become a certified diver!
To enroll in the PADI Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be:
The fun part about this course is...well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible! You breathe underwater for the first time (something you'll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, you'll make two pool dives and four dives at local dive sites or on one of our fun filled trips under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear including a buoyancy compensating jacket that holds your scuba tank and weight system, a scuba regulator that delivers air, a dive computer, and standard accessories. The scuba gear you wear will be chosen by a PRO SCUBA CENTER staff to ensure your comfort and will be provided throughout the course. You will need to invest in your own mask, snorkel and fins since these personal items are a lot more fun to use when they fit properly. You will also wear a scuba wetsuit to enhance the comfort and relaxation during the PADI Open Diver Course.
After certification, you will be allowed to use the scuba gear FREE OF CHARGE when you are directly participating in continuing education courses.
You want to learn to scuba dive and are looking for a flexible way to fit a dive course into your busy schedule. With PADI’s Open Water Diver eLearning® program you can get started immediately with the knowledge development portion of the course and work at your own pace. This convenient, interactive study option allows you to learn anytime and anywhere you have an internet connection or with Touch offline.
Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development – including facts, principles and concepts – and dive skills including techniques and methods. PADI Open Water Diver eLearning® uses videos, audio, graphics and reading to help you learn, plus short quizzes that let you gauge your progress, and then offers a review of anything you happen to miss.
We're here to answer any questions as you progress and will conduct an equipment orientation and consultation before you jump in the pool to practice dive skills with your instructor. You'll continue to develop your dive skills during actual dives at local dive sites or on one of our fun filled trips.
